Construct any triangle ABC. Constuct any point in the plane and label it P. Extend the line which formed AB and construct a line perpendicular which intersects P. Label the intersection of the two lines s. Extend the line which formed AC and construct a line perpendicular which intersects P. Label the intersection of these two lines t. Do the same for the line which formed CB and label the intersection r.
Triangle rst is called the Pedal Triangle and P is the Pedal Point.
What happens when you move P around?
Click on P to move it around. You may also click on the vertices of ABC to see how things change when you start with a different triangle.
What happens if you move P inside the triangle ABC?
What if P lies on one side of triangle ABC?
What if P is moved to one of the vertices of triangle ABC?
